CLUB Eirne, the fundraising body for Fermanagh GAA, are once again gearing up for their highly-enjoyable, informative and amusing pre-Championship Chat Night prior to Pete McGrath’s senior footballers taking on Monaghan in the Ulster preliminary round clash.

The night will be held on Thursday, May 18th at the Westville Hotel for all Club Eirne members and Patrons club officers and friends of Fermanagh GAA and will have the usual high calibre of guests there to offer their wisdom.

Multiple All-Ireland winners Oisín McConville and Enda McGinley are sure to throw up some tales of when Tyrone and Armagh were top of the tree. Former Monaghan player and Irish Independent columnist Dick Clerkin will be called upon to offer his insights into Malachy O’Rourke and the Monaghan camp, while Fermanagh’s first All-Star Peter McGinnity is sure to be a draw with his wit and experiences.

Later on, Pete McGrath will call in from training at the Lissan Complex to reveal the starting team with those present. The night will also feature the official launch and rebranding of the Fermanagh Academy Squads.

Teresa McNabb, Shaun Doherty and Eoghan Bradley will be on hand to deliver a presentation of how the Academy squads will operate and how they are making the most of the money invested in Fermanagh GAA.

This comes off the back of another hugely successfully Club Eirne Day at the Races in Down Royal on May 1st, and then the Club Eirne blitz held in glorious sunshine in Lissan that was well attended, with youngsters getting to meet their heroes, the county players.

The evening will commence with a finger buffet at 7.45pm.
