CLUB Eirne are preparing for their annual Championship chat night ahead of Fermanagh’s mouth-watering Ulster Senior football Championship clash with Donegal this Sunday at Brewster Park.

The game, a repeat of last year’s Ulster final is finely in the balance after Fermanagh’s impressive victory over Declan Bonner’s men in the National League.

And, Club Eirne are taking the step of inviting everyone interested in Fermanagh GAA to come along. The nights were previously open to Club Eirne Members and Patrons only but this event is an open invitation to join members and patrons to hear of the good work ongoing by the supporter’s club and how they are advancing the cause of Fermanagh GAA.

Already confirmed for the evening are Martin McHugh and Ryan McCluskey and the event will be chaired by host of the popular ‘Gaelic Weekly’ show, Rory Rafferty.

McHugh is father of Donegal players Ryan and Mark. As a player, he was an integral part of the Donegal team that won the county’s first All-Ireland title in 1992.

After that, he managed Cavan to a famous Ulster title in 1997, getting past Fermanagh with a last-gasp point in Clones in the first round that year.

One of the most authoritative voices of Ulster GAA, he is a weekly newspaper columnist and has had a long career in punditry with the BBC and RTÉ.

Ryan McCluskey was probably the longest-serving county footballer with Fermanagh. Last year he was left standing as the long-serving player in the country having first played under the late Pat King in 1999, while he finished up last season.

Already, McCluskey is showing promise as a pundit with BBC Radio.

The night is due to start at 8pm on Friday night, in The Crowe’s Nest bar in Enniskillen, with everyone welcome. Club Eirne Chairman Ger Treacy stated ‘My wish is to see every Fermanagh supporter coming along to this Chat Show Night and enjoy a night of chat and craic with friends ahead of what should be a great weekend’
